CASUAL PRODUCTION POSITIONS

McPherson’s Printing are seeking reliable, self-motivated individuals to join our casual pool of production workers.

ABOUT THE COMPANY:

McPherson’s are a well-established business of 70 years, initially starting as a printer of can labels, we are now one of the largest book printers in Australia. We employ in excess of 170 people & we provide an end to end service in regards to book manufacturing. We print for publishers such as Scholastic, Allen & Unwin, Victoria Racing Club, Hachette and Harper Collins.

THE ROLE:

DUTIES MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING (Please note that most of the duties listed require manual handling and are repetitive tasks):

•                    Making boxes, Packing books into boxes, Stacking boxes onto pallets

•                    Feeding paper sections into the binder

•                    Feeding paper sections into the collator /Hand collating

•                    Stacking books down on pallets

•                    Checking books for quality

•                    Constant checking of sections

•                   Labelling of pallets and crates

•                    Keeping bundler and folder areas free from rubbish and regularly swept

•                    Sorting/Printing picking slips

•                    Packing orders

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA FOR THIS ROLE INCLUDES;

•                     Reliability

•                     Attention to detail

•                     Ability to maintain concentration

•                     Ability to follow instructions

•                     Basic literacy & numeracy skills

•                     Motivation

Your employment will be on a casual basis, as required by the business. As a casual employee, each engagement you are required to work will be considered a separate contract of employment which ceases at the end of that engagement. With the nature of casual employment there is no guarantee of ongoing employment or a regular pattern of work. You should have no expectation of continuing employment with us. McPherson’s Printing can elect to offer work and you as a casual employee can elect to accept or reject the offer of work.
